http://ryosakukotaka.jp/earthvibration/

Putting myself in the forest
It is not a ritual or anything, but these few years, I have moved from one place to another in the forest during my working season.

For the first few nights, I become sensitized to the various sounds I hear directly through the thin sheet of my tent.
The noise or vibration of animals moving around, their breath, rustle of leaves in the breeze, and the sound of the river reaches through the trees.

The night in the forest is completely dark
And I am lying there as the only foreign object among all the other living things.
My ears catch any sound even when I lie closing my eyes.
Instead of being relaxed, what constantly dominate inside of myself are a considerable wakefulness, concentration and imagination.
I get tired after a while and fall asleep, and in the next moment, I am awakened by the symphony of the birds.
Then I realize that I had been a part of the forest until now.
The sun rises somewhere and before long a faint light appears, then the morning comes.

In one week, I get used to it.
In two weeks, being here becomes quite normal for me.
In the third week, I pick up my own pace and start feeling very comfortable
and am filled with the feeling of being embraced by the Earth – with no sorrow, loneliness and anxiety.
Becoming a part of the forest and a part of mountains is, at the same time, to become a part of the Earth and the universe.
