時の流れ
大木を見て
高野山でも
お伊勢さんでも
この前を多くの人々が
歩いてきた
人の寿命のはるかををここに生し
今時何を おもうのか
いや木の考えてることで
わかるわけもなく、
考えてるかどうかすら
しらないでいる
この身の回りの
ほとんどを何も知らないぼくが
大手を振って歩いてる
他の生きものさぞ
めいわくしてるで
あろう
いや、それすらも知らないでいる,,,
The passage of time
Seeing the great trees
in both Mt. Kohya and Ise Shrine,
reminded me of how much people
have walked by those trees,
and what the trees are thinking now
after having lived for much longer than
the lifetime of human beings.
Of course I cannot understand what they think
or don’t even know whether they are thinking anything or not.
Knowing hardly anything about
my own surroundings,
I am walking around as if I own this place.
The other living things must be annoyed with it.
Yet I don’t even know if they are…
