今月、おじさんといとこが来日？帰国？していました。
僕はヨーロッパの展覧会の時などちょくちょく会っていますが
日本には15年ぶりぐらいになるようです。
いとこは前回の訪日の時まだ3〜４歳だったから、ほとんど覚えてないらしく今回改めましての感覚。
とにかく、50年前とかに浅草松竹演芸場からパリに行き現在はベルギーのブリュセルを拠点にマイムから始まった舞台芸術創作活動をしています。http://evni.be
その間５回ほどしか帰国しておらず、身内も今回が最後かもと兄弟で集まったりしていました。
なぜかほとんど日本にいないこのおじさんから日本的な何か精神のようなものが強く内側から感じられるのですね〜。
いとこは日本に家族がいることを再確認、前はフランス語しか話せなかったけど、今回は英語でコミュニケーションすることが出来た。いままでお互い通じない言葉とアイコンタクトだけだったのでかなりうれしい！笑、日本語も少し勉強しているようでした。
My uncle and cousin visited/returned to Japan this month.
It’s been about 15 years since they came to Japan last time, while I have seen them from time to time when I had exhibitions in Europe.
Especially for my cousin, it was almost his first visit because he hardly remembered anything about his last visit, as he was only 3-4 years old then.
My uncle left Japan some 50 years ago, after performing at Shochiku Engei Hall in Asakusa, to Paris and is now based in Brussels, Belgium, creating performing arts based on pantomime: http://evni.be
During the 50 years he came back to Japan only 5 times or so, therefore his siblings thought this could be the last time to meet him and got together.
For some reasons, I strongly feel something Japanese, maybe the spirit of it, from inside of my uncle although he has hardly been in Japan.
My cousin reaffirmed the existence of his family in Japan. He used to speak only French, but this time we could communicated in English. It made me happy so much because our communication was based only on our own languages, which made no sense to the other, and eye contact! He is even studying Japanese a bit.
