植物の繊維がシート状になったのが、いわゆる日本の紙
植物は太陽や気候によって、左右されます。日本では四季がそれです。四季は地球が太陽の周りを一周する間に起こる変化。地球が太陽の周りを一周するのは？よくわからんけど、宇宙のリズム？ということにしといて、考えると、原料を収穫する時その植物に合わせて予定を組みます。ここからが、始まってるんです。そう、人間の時間が終わって宇宙のリズムになるんです。
これに氣付いたときは、この壮大な宇宙が自分の中に入ってきた感じでうれしくなりました。もちろん宇宙の中で生きてるからこちらが、宇宙の中におるのは、逃れようのないことなんですが、日常、宇宙に生きてる本当のことを知らん顔しすぎると、水に油がはじくように、その中にあっても混ざることのないおれでおって、なんか、きっかけで、こうゆう当たり前のことに氣付かしてもらったときは、やっぱりうれしくなります。
このリズムをいつも表現するための紙！
その紙をつくるのにやっぱりこのリズムにノルことになる。
紙って面白いです。
Japanese papers (washi) are, as we say, fibers in the form of sheets.
The growth of plants is strongly influenced by the sun or the climate. It is, in Japan, the four seasons. The four seasons are the change due to the circuit of the Earth around the sun. And the circuit of the Earth is… probably the rhythm of the universe. In that case, I arrange the schedule of harvesting Kozo (paper mulberry) around the plant’s life. That really is the beginning… the end of the time of human beings and the beginning of the rhythm of the universe.
When I realized the above, I felt the mighty universe came into myself and thrilled. It is an obvious fast that we are in the universe because we live in the universe. But if I live my everyday life as if there is no such truth, I cannot be intermingled with my surroundings as if oil repels water. So, I’m happy when something reminds me of the simple fact.
My papers are to express the rhythm.
