A month-long motorbike trip 3/30

I heard that I would, more than anything,
have to peel the bamboo shoots skin off.
Not the kind of bamboo shoots we normally refer to, but the ones called “nemagari bamboo”, a kind of dwarf bamboo.
I could have arrived a day earlier to go bamboo shoot hunting with them,
but the owner said I had better do so 10 days later.
So, I guessI will be staying here at least for 10 days.
Anyways, I’ll be there in a minute!
The normal rules of the road have already gone away.

I place my belongings at the end of this hole…

to begin my life here.
They have already started peeling the rough skin of the bamboos in the entrance hall.
One makes a cut in the skin.
Another peels the skin off.
And there is one chopping the peeled shoots.
Now I join that assembly line.
The owner said he had already introduced me to his family as his “friend”.
But I feel some suspicious air..!?

After the peeling I take a bath in the outdoor hot spring
The day is changing into the night
in the bluest blue air of the mist and fog.
A Japanese raccoon comes along.
It was another long, long day.
